Indicator Definition
| Indicator Name | Number of people reached indirectly by the project activities (indirect stakeholders) |
|---|---|
| Indicator Definition | Indirect stakeholders are people who benefit from a project without directly participating in its activities. For HELVETAS, estimating indirect stakeholders is important to show the broader reach of a project, such as improved services, policies, or living conditions that affect the wider community. It also helps to capture spill-over effects, for example, when farmers who were not part of a training still adopt improved agricultural practices after learning them from trained peers. Indirect Stakeholders may include family members of someone participating in vocational training or employees of a supported business. Data Collection
There is no fixed data collection method for this indicator, as it is ultimately an estimate. In some cases, partners or supported actors can be asked to provide an estimate of how many people they reached.
To help you make a clearer distinction between direct and indirect stakeholders, we’ve created a cheat sheet that can guide your estimation process.
